Data & Privacy

Is my financial data shared with anyone?
No. All your financial information (expenses, income, cards) is stored exclusively on your device. We don't have access to your data and we never send it to any server.
What information do you collect?
We only collect anonymous usage data to improve the app: which screens you visit and which features you use. We never collect amounts, descriptions, or financial data.
Are my cards safe?
We only store the bank name, alias, last 4 digits, and cut-off/payment dates. We do not store full card numbers, CVV, expiration dates, or cardholder names. This information cannot be used to make transactions.
What happens if I delete the app?
All your data is permanently deleted. There is no way to recover it because the information only exists on your device. We recommend making sure before uninstalling.
Can I recover deleted data?
No. Once you delete an expense, income, or the entire app, the data cannot be recovered. The only possibility is if you have a full backup of your iPhone (iTunes/Finder/iCloud device backup).
Do I need to create an account to use the app?
No. TrackPlata works without registration, without email, and without personal data. It is completely anonymous.

Functionality

How do I register a monthly installment payment (MSI)?
When creating a credit card expense, select "MSI" as the payment type, enter the total amount, and choose the term (3-24 months). The app automatically calculates the monthly payment and generates the corresponding installments.
Can I pay off an MSI early?
Yes. In expense management, when you select an MSI expense, you can use the "Pay off" option which marks all remaining installments as paid.
How does my card's billing cycle work?
Set your card's cut-off date and payment date. The app automatically groups your charges by billing period and shows you the total due per period. You can mark entire periods as paid.
What does "projected income" mean?
If you enable this option, the available balance includes pending income (not yet received). If you disable it, only received income counts. Useful for planning vs seeing your actual situation.
What is a variable amount expense?
It's a recurring expense whose amount changes each period (e.g., electricity, gas). You register an estimated amount and can update the actual amount for each instance when you know it.
How do reminders work?
When creating a recurring expense or setting up a credit card, you can enable reminders that notify you X days before the due date. Notifications are sent at 9:00 AM. You need to have notifications enabled in Settings.
Can I edit a single payment of a recurring expense without affecting the others?
Yes. When you tap an individual expense, you can choose "Edit this charge" (only that instance) or "Edit entire recurring expense" (the full series). Changes to the series only affect future instances.
Can I change the currency?
Yes, in Settings you can switch between MXN (Mexican pesos), USD (dollars), and EUR (euros). The selected currency applies to the entire app.
Can I create my own categories?
Yes. In addition to the 12 default categories, you can create custom categories with any name, icon, and color you prefer. Default categories cannot be edited or deleted.
What is the purpose of marking an income as "salary"?
Income marked as salary is automatically assigned to the corresponding period (bi-weekly or monthly) when you mark it as received. This helps the period balance calculate correctly.

Compatibility & Limitations

Does my data sync between my iPhone and iPad?
No. Currently, data is stored only on the device where you use the app. There is no synchronization between devices.
Can I export my data?
Not at the moment. The export functionality is planned for a future version.
Is there an Android version?
No. TrackPlata is available exclusively for iOS (iPhone).
Does the app connect to my bank?
No. TrackPlata is a manual tracking tool. It does not connect to financial institutions or import transactions automatically.
Is it a financial advisory tool?
No. TrackPlata is exclusively a personal tracking and organization tool. It does not constitute or replace professional financial, tax, or accounting advice. The data you enter is for your personal use.
Can I share expenses with my partner or family?
No. TrackPlata is an individual app. It does not have shared account or collaborative expense functionality.

Common Issues

I'm not receiving reminder notifications.
Make sure notifications are enabled in the app's Settings AND in your iOS system Settings (Settings > Notifications > TrackPlata). Both must be active for reminders to work.
Why does my credit card expense appear in a different period than when I made the purchase?
Credit card charges are grouped by billing period, not by purchase date. A charge made before the cut-off date appears in the current period; after the cut-off, it goes to the next period.
Why doesn't the available balance include an income I already registered?
If the income is in "Pending" status and you don't have the "Projected income" option enabled in the period selector, it won't be counted. Enable it or mark the income as "Received".
